Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic meet again in a U.S. Open semifinal. Will be the third consecutive fight over both players. The previous two have opted Swiss side.
Federer reached the semifinals for the seventh consecutive year after beating Robin Soderling 6-4, 6-4, 7-5, thus avenging the defeat in the quarter-finals of Roland Garros.
Federer controlled at all times Soderling never found his game and could not connect an ace until the third set.
Meanwhile Djokovic had no trouble to beat Monfils 7-6, 6-1, 6-2, who just stood up in the first set, which was decided in the tiebreaker. The rest was a cakewalk for the man in Belgrade.
On the other side of the box, now play the other quarter-final. Nadal and Verdasco played by one of the tickets, while Youzhny Wawrinka and go on the other.
