Red Bull Racing (RBR) is a Formula 1 team owned by Austrian beverage company Red Bull. Red Bull bought the team Jaguar Racing for about $ 110 million when the team’s parent company, Ford Motor Company, announced its withdrawal from the pinnacle of motorsport. Toro Rosso (“Red Bull” translated into Italian) is a second Formula 1 team, which also belongs to the brand of energy drinks.
The team’s origins date back to the team created by Jackie Stewart , Stewart Grand Prix, he played his first races in 1997. The team was bought by Ford and ran under the Jaguar name during the 2000 season of Formula 1. Despite the youth of the equipment compared to other manufacturers such as Ferrari and McLaren, it was considered a very successful start, a race won in 1999 . Despite the numerous technical and administrative changes (which included the hiring of high profile personalities such as Bobby Rahal and Niki Lauda), and the failed attempt to lure the designer Adrian Newey, the team never again reached the achievements of the era Stewart.
