Some people adhere to the maxim that preparation is everything. Other people say that this is a useless cliche. Nivea apparently believes it and wants to show that it’s true. The company has put together a promotion that is not like all of the other promotions out there. It is combining football and preparation with an underdog story that is sure to stir the masses. Who doesn’t love a good tale of a team that came from nothing and built itself into a machine? That is what The Great Football Experiment is all about and Nivea is at the head of the table here.
Without proper preparation, a team like Ivory, F.C. would be stuck playing Sunday League games against teams and players that no one will ever hear of. But things are changing for Ivory. After the club won the competition that allowed it to get involved in the experiment, its preparation habits are on the up. Nivea has supported this team, providing it with two of the most respected managers in all of football. Ivory are currently working with Terry Venables and Ray Wilkins, a couple of old FA guys who are trying to turn this team into a winner.
It was not long ago that Ivory were playing amateur games and just hoping to get out without injuries. With the help of Nivea and these coaches, they are undergoing a transformation. The team is now formally training. They are working on fitness and form. They are learning ball skills and learning to play as a proper team. A bunch of guys who might not have made it out of amateur play are trying to impress. So how will we know if the experiment has worked and if the time of the coaches has paid off?
That will all be determined at the end of the day, when Ivory will take on a team of determined English football legends. They will play with the best of the best, hoping to keep it close or score a win. Preparation is everything and Ivory are preparing for a world-class challenge.

It is well known the increasing influence of television in the modern game: in a time where the clubs are hard to find the necessary ways to generate revenue, the money contributed by the media becomes a necessity for survival. The problem, the power that this gives the small screen. In the case of Mexican soccer, the last chapter dealing with football and television has been a scandal in the group stage of the quarterfinals of the Torneo Clausura: the occasion to make two breaks, at minutes 25 and 70, for rehydration of the players, took advantage of television channels to cut emissions and make a commercial break one minute in each of them. “Circumstance or business? In Mexico we are very clear.
The Mexican Football Federation (Femexfut) agreed to the above breaks all the quarterfinal matches for the players could rehydrate properly. So far, everything seems normal as there is nothing unusual in leagues where the heat can take its toll on athletes. In some cases, the games at noon may exceed thirty degrees. The controversy is given when making breaks in games played between Cruz Azul and Atlante at nine o’clock at night, with twenty degrees and raining. Televisa, which owns the rights, used to make the resulting commercial breaks. It was agreed, but was it necessary?
The case becomes even more bizarre when even the players knew that the cuts would occur. Neither the medical heads of the clubs involved, surprised and puzzled by the measure. “If they are professional footballers do not need to rehydrate at night”, say doctors in sports medicine specialists and trainers, who can not find medical justification for what happened. The Football hall (originally called football Hall ) began in the Eastern Republic of Uruguay in 1930 (South America) by the idea of Professor Juan Carlos Ceriani (1903 – 1996), he plied his trade in the Christian Association Youth (YMCA).
In Uruguay, at that time the game was experiencing a boom rarely seen, and this was a reason that the famous “blue” (is the name given to the Uruguayan national team since his shirt is of that color) had won the gold medals Olympic Games in Amsterdam (Netherlands) in 1924 and in Colombes (France) in 1928 as well as the first world championship played in Uruguay’s capital Montevideo in 1930.
In every corner of Uruguay improvised a football field to practice it, for that reason, Professor Juan Carlos Ceriani saw that the young people were stimulated and encouraged to practice the sport, regardless of the size of the field or the type of surface on which they played (grass, asphalt, wood).
Thus it took bases of different sports as water polo, handball, basketball, football, links and drafted the regulations of this new discipline of football.
Basketball took the number of players per team and match length (40 minutes) Hand ball the ball slightly and chop small arcs of water regulation basically Polo archers and without neglecting traditional concepts of football. Read the rest of this entry »

Diego Maradona was in defeat, saying his team was simply overcome. However, the star of Argentina’s national team, Lionel Messi, was more honest. Historical defeat of Argentina by 6-1 against lowly Bolivia in the altitude of La Paz reopens the debate on a politically tinged theme, beginning with a complex debate about whether computers can-or should-play in those conditions extreme.

Messi’s description of his battle for 90 minutes at 3,600 meters above sea level in La Paz, the highest capital city in the world, leaves no doubt. “It’s impossible,” said Messi, the Barcelona striker fast ended the game clutching his thigh and exhausted. “Some of us suffer from terrible headaches, but did not want to use this as an excuse,” said Argentine defender Javier Zanetti, who plays regularly in Milan, Italy, located just 120 meters above the sea level. Bolivians, of course, might differ with the suggestion that Messi less oxygen conditions in the capital makes it impossible to play football fairly.
And the irony of the worst defeat suffered by the selection of Argentina in a playoff game in the World Cup, eclipsing the 5-0 defeat suffered against Colombia in 1993, Maradona was that it helped to campaign party in height.

A year ago, when FIFA was moving to ban international matches at high altitude, Maradona played an exhibition match in one hour at the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz with Bolivian President Evo Morales, who is an avid soccer to show that it was not impossible. Read the rest of this entry »
ootball never ceases to amaze me every other day and one also for their hobbies, their topics, for many recurring situations that occur in a negative way season after season, for the enormous waste that clubs made with signings of alleged “cracks “that often fail or to be moderately acceptable players to play either third division, unprecedented decisions, capricious and absurd incompetent leaders who are more aware of what they read in newspapers manage sports club representing a minimum level of intelligence.
With the thread of this obviously inadequate mileage than many could boast let the kite waste and inconsistency reach the heavens and you can put a thousand examples of what I say and the bad is that some normal to see what happens, and otherwise does not explain that no action is taken, I dare say, would have to be at the level of council of ministers.
Recently and we will not name names, but is public, the news came out ranking (some managers may feel proud and even hang medals for the great work!) on Spanish football clubs of first division debts owed and the amount of what they should be would feed the entire continent of Africa for at least a year, but this is football, and football is well and the powers that be so calm and without getting out the ” colors (of shame or lack of it).
FC Barcelona resisted pressure by the previous victory over Mallorca and Real Madrid conceded five goals at home to Tenerife to preserve its place atop the standings with his eternal rival lurking just two points.
Barcelona gave no quarter to Tenerife in the last match of the day, with a triplet of Messi, Puyol a goal and an own goal by Ezequiel Luna, leaving the Blaugrana to 43 points.
Madrid was temporarily placed in the top of the table by beating on a snowy Bernabéu to Mallorca by 2 goals to 0. Kaká reappeared and Fernando Gago, who came to meet with Diarra.
Argentine Gonzalo Higuain opened the scoring at minute 7. Esteban Granero scored the second and last goal of the game.
More than 23 years that I know of the existence of Women’s Football and like everything I saw that Uruguay is going soooo slow. The infrastructure despite having their progress during this period is still insufficient for others. Some clubs even though their efforts to survive have been almost forgotten on the road without even achieved his dream of belonging to the AU F because that goal was reached recently in 1996.
As above who still continue to practice or are approaching have to deal with almost the same problems then. Here the basic feeling, aside colored dresses, never ceased to be a passion for the sport itself and most do not receive a weight but invests his own money defending a recreation club or an institution of your choice.
Transportation costs to practices, games are added to the budget that comes with extra individual equipment (shin guards, shoes, ankle, etc) that corresponds to each one and if you have the opportunity to be called on to stand up with pride does not escape the blue cruel challenge to choose between that and the job or career. Of course there are few that can leave everything to prove charrúa claw, because there is not yet firmly committed to polish natural talents every Sunday parade in Uruguayan courts.
